Backups and restores run in the Windows app, signed in as your own administrator. The portal never holds a Microsoft 365 credential.
- Download the app and start it on a Windows machine.
- The app shows an eight-character code. Approve it on the connection page.
- Sign in to a tenant in the app and run the first backup.

Every type is backed up and compared. Restore coverage grows as each type is proven against a live tenant; until then a walk-through takes you through a restore by hand.
